I can’t express how happy I am whenever a new food tours video gets posted with these two

One of the low key things that’s enjoyable about these is that they compare and contrast different perspectives without it turning into a pissing contest

As someone who lives in LA, I am very glad that Harry picked Norms because that has always been a childhood favorite dinner and is always known for affordability. Also love these kinds of videos with Harry and Joe so keep producing these!

Food Tours is such an amazing series, I think at this point I enjoy it even more than Food Wars (which I love a lot)... it lets Harry and Joe's personalities shine even more.

Huevos Rancheros is NOT TEX MEX, Its a classic Mexican dish you can order in Mexico. Also, LA doesn't serve "Tex Mex" So Cal Mexican and Tex Mex aren't the same

Shrove Tuesday is celebrated in the US. It is sometimes called Fat Tuesday, Faschnacht Day, or Mardi Gras. Mardi = Tuesday. Gras = Fat.

These places are great, but I cant get over the prices in LA. Insane breakfast prices.

Growing up in LA, then moving like an hour East, I really appreciated Norms more. I was like happy when I’d go out to LA on a night out and end up there at 3 AM, it was a treat. When they finally opened one up in my neighborhood, I was so hyped, and realized that a lot of people felt that way about it, idk what it is, but their steak is amazing, especially at 3 am when you’re plastered.

My grandfather actually got an extras role for Dreamer just by being a regular at a diner in my hometown. He got to eat breakfast for his scenes.

Nick's Cafe - $13 for a tiny portion of biscuits & gravy. Yes, that's definitely LA.

I've been with Joe all this time saying "Not a scone!" and finally Harry confirms it's not a scone. lol

This series is scratching that itch of the shows Travel Channel used to show.

The "maple syrup" at Norms is almost certainly corn syrup.

“McDonald’s breakfast sausage.” 🤣 Finally we have a reference for explaining the flavor of American breakfast sausage to Brits.

Chicken-fried is an adjective. Chicken-fried steak is like schnitzel made from cube steak instead of veal. With the seasoned batter like fried chicken and some cream gravy, probably peppery.

Biscuits are definitely not scones, however much they may look alike to the British.
They don’t have to have gravy, though that’s certainly one of the tasty options. They can be eaten warm with some butter spread and melted inside. Or with jam or honey or molasses etc. Or as a breakfast sandwich with ham or a sausage patty or a fried chicken fillet or some pork tenderloin or a piece of breakfast steak (possibly chicken-fried) etc.

Don’t save pancakes, crepes and waffles for Mardi Gras.

So many kinds of hash browns.
