There are people saying that Mark Golden's race is fair game: “He should expect that because Jamaica is a predominantly black country and he is of British descent, and also because the PNP did the same thing to Edward Seaga in the 70s and 80s.” I beg to differ; the people in the PNP were not speaking about Edward Seaga's race; they were talking about the fact that he was not a born Jamaican. He was born in the United States, and he should have never held the office of Prime Minister. That office should be reserved for people who were born in Jamaica only. It couldn’t be about Mr. Seaga’s race because Michael Manley was also of British descent; remember his mother, Edna Manley, was from England and she was white, so it couldn’t be about Edward Seaga's color. It was about where he was born.
