Car dealers make money on the financing and all the incentives are on the backend. Just finance it for a day to get discounts then pay it off like a credit card. If you pay it off within 90 days they lose the back end profit.

Yes, true. I walked into a Lincoln dealer (pre pandemic). I told them I'd pay ALL cash for a hybrid at their advertised offer. The car advertised was there. They said that price was ONLY good if I was going to finance it. It said NOTHING about it anywhere. I checked. In hindsight, I should have reported them to our Attorney General. I left them a bad review. I walked, and they didn't care.

So, if i have bad credit, I could take the crazy 15% loan after negotiating the best price possible, then simply pay it off cash.

The dealership holds all the cards. They won't sell you the car if you give them a low price offer. Then they will waist your time.
