At 13:00 when adding the active class name, I learned that the space in the quotes (" active") is essential.

thanks for the guide. I added a few modifications:
- decreased the font-size previous and next button with a media query, it was too big on mobile.
- wrapped everything inside of a main tag.
- put the image width in the CSS: .image img {width: 100%}

I was always doing these with BS4, but it is good to understand how to make it from scratch!

Where in your html is the active class?? Also, the first image doesn't appear, but when I click, the next image appears and the carousel works as intended.

Great tutorials... followed along and had an issue with the images fading out after they load. I downloaded the files from github and have the same thing happening. If I remove the fade class from the first image, all is good. Not sure there the disconnect would be... ?

to evryone change class name from "image fade" to "image" and add "fade" class to img tag.
