Looking at the 9th generation of video game consoles of today, it's crazy to think how in just a few short decades, we went from the giant pixels and simple color palette machines like the Atari 2600 were limited to displaying the complex, insanely realistic looking graphics seen in Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X/S titles such as Elden Ring, Horizon: Forbidden West, and Cyberpunk 2077.

Since video games are somewhat of a cultural touchstone, we decided to geek out a bit and create a video dedicated to covering the timeline of home video game consoles. Even if you're not that much a gamer, we're willing to bet that this video is going to at least inspire a tad bit of that good old fashion nostalgia feeling. The earliest time I remember gaming was on the 1K Ram Sinclair ZX80 Computer in 1980 as a young kid. I also remember playing on my friends Atari 2600. The first console I had was the PS1, followed by PlayStation 2 then PS3. It is incredible how much gaming has progressed in the last 50 years.

Coleco was my first game console w/ Expansion Module 1. I was able to play Atari games. Then Sega Genesis, Playstation 1, X-box, PlayStaion 3-4. I still have games for Atari, Genesis and the PlayStation 1-4.

My family started out with Atari Pong and since one of my brothers lived at home forever and had all kinds of disposable income we eventually had a 2600 and then he got Intellevison. In the meantime my other brother got a Coleco and I have to say the graphics on it were great! Especially playing Mr Do on it!

Edits:
You said 1987 when you clearly meant 1977.

Sega's Zaxxon, not Zaxcon.

No mention of Saturn or Dreamcast is truly sinful. Especially with their contributions to online gaming. Along with the many firsts attributed to the DC.

Back in 1981 our parents got us an Odyssey 2. They didn't have many games and ripped off other games like a generic Pac Man. Eventually we got the simple Atari and liked it better than the Odyssey 2. Atari's cartridge wasn't great but we bought Activision cartridges with better graphics.

My kids have the Nintendo units from the original to the Switch, the other ones are gathering dust in the closet. What can I do to get rid of them but get a little cash from them?
