Today I was in the woods with my dog. He started acting strange, and he was reluctant keep going down this trail through an alder patch. Normally he is out in front sniffing. So I knew something was wrong. I urged him ahead for a few more yards when suddenly I heard the strangest noise, very similar to that whooping sound in this video. The hair on the back of my neck stood straight up. My dog froze, focused on the direction the noise came from. It sounded like it was maybe 30-40 yards away over knob and bend in the trail. Now I’ve spent a lot of time in the woods. I’ve encountered just about every animal that calls the coast range of Oregon home. But I have never been more scared in my life. What frightened me the most was just how freaked out my dog was. He’s incredibly brave, he’s faced off with a black bear 5x his size and would have fought it to his end. But he didn’t want the smoke with whatever this thing was.

And just my 2 cents, there’s no way in hell those are elk sounds. I don’t know what they are but I can tell you with certainty that it’s not an elk.

Idk, but you can faintly hear birds too, so that makes it seem like it isn't so unusual. When it's completely silent, then you have a problem!!

There are two creatures in the audio. One is an elk, second is unknown. That second one that made a 'Whoop' sound is like the one from the infamous recordings by Ron Morehead.

Ya'll saying that's an elk... I have grown up and lived in the Rocky Mountains for my whole life and am an Elk hunter and from a family of Elk hunters. NEVER have I heard an Elk produce any of those sounds like that. Bull bugles don't sound anything like that. And they don't make yipping sounds, just chuckles, which also don't sound like that. Females and juveniles make a sort of whining squeaky cry but nothing like that. Unless this is in Europe or another part of the world and their Elks/Ungulates make this sound but I personally have never heard a Rocky Mountain Elk do any of that. The other thing is that those were all different and all back to back. I'm not buying the Elk thing... I'm not saying it's not an animal but I have not ever experienced Elks doing that.

Most of the videos i can identify as animals sounds . I'm an outdoorsman. I've never heard these sounds before.

I'm convinced the woods are full of troops of bigfoot hunters making these noises and scaring the daylights out of each other.
*Edit:* don't get me wrong. I am, in fact, in the "Bigfoot is a Hyperdimensional Being" camp and that they exist in one fashion or another; I think they're real. But also, these "researchers" scare the poop out of each other LOL.
