The videos of kids getting a new pet or being reunited with one usually involves tears. They are overwhelmed with emotion. More kids need pets or a neighborhood adoption center where they can love them when they can’t carry them home.

I’m convinced not everyone might understand this, but having a dog is really like having a best friend. Especially for kids.

I had to go to the mental health program at the VA. I spent a week there and once I saw my dog again, I had to pull over and cry for a half hour. Some people don't understand what a dog can bring into someone's life. My dog got me sober and healthy.

I'll never forget my first dog got lost and when we found her at a shelter a few towns over they brought her out to verify it was her. That dog was over the moon she was so happy to see me, they hooked her leash in the back hallway to do paperwork and a minute later she came running out cause she chewed off the leash to get out to me.
