Growing up in Australia, I absolutely idolised Steve as a kid. I wished to be him more than anyone in the world. I still remember when he died, and everyone at school was talking crazy about it. I was 8 years old then and I refused to believe it was actually true. I still watch his old documentaries for nostalgia, what a beautiful man he was.

The build-up right before the actual croc wrestling was so good and genuine, despite it being just a fake crocodile and there wasn’t actually any danger 😂 I still felt the excitement and the hype.

Steve was a one of a kind human being...truly universally loved by all for his personality and passion. He's been an inspiration to me ever since I was a little kid and it's thanks to him that I now own reptiles and have such an avid passion for wildlife and conservation. R.I.P. to a truly amazing soul and I am so happy the way his family has carried on his legacy and passion. I still wish I got to meet him before his passing. So much universal love for this man.
