The fact that youtube itself is not supporting this show is madness. This is a magnificent example of what youtube creators are able to create. It would be great publicity and cost very little compared to the ressources they have.

The biggest problem with history is that we know what happened next. We never realize that the people involved had no idea if it would work or not. Every man on that beach KNEW he was probably going to get killed or captured. And they charged anyway.

The gargantuan task of WW2 alone is nothing short of mind boggling. The fact that you guys hit all the nooks and crannies inbetween with espionage, war crimes, home front, etc, ON TOP of other wars is nothing short of amazing. To the entire team; Thank you for covering all of this. It's amazing to see how these things unfold as it did over 70 years ago.

My neighbor's father who passed away a few years ago was a day or two after D-Day (he couldn't remember), but he remembered having to wait in the water for hours to finally get on the beach, while the bodies of those who had fallen floated past him. I asked him if he would do it again and he said "Yes, of course, my country needed me". The Greatest Generation

My great grandpa was a soviet soldier in ww2. He worked with recon in a mechanized battalion. He enlisted in 1941 at 18 years old and survived the whole war. He fought from the battle of moscow to the balkans and he was in the battle of Berlin.

I have to donate. My great-grandfather on my mother's side was a medic at the D-Day landings. He was at Omaha. I can't even begin to imagine what that day must have been like.

Holy jesus, D-day is half a month away. I swear it feels like it was last week we just got through the battle of Midway!

If anyone deserves it, it’s definitely you guys. Still subscribed to the Patreon but decided to throw in 10$ for you guys to keep going. Hopefully everyone who watches understands the importance of these videos and contributes to.

I owe so much to the few family members that participated in the Second World War that it's hard to describe. My father in law landed in Normandy in a glider as a medic and got the bronze star for his actions at Bastogne during the battle of the Bulge; a cousin was on Corregidor when it fell to the Japanese in 1942 and spent until 1945 as a POW: i had another cousin die in France just after the war ended (he tripped an uncleared mine) and another cousin, recently discovered, was killed on Saipan. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for presenting this great story.

4:58 you'll never know how much this moment meant to me, when I saw my comment flash up, I feel deeply honoured to see it, I'll show my Great Auntie the next time I see her. I appreciate all the work you guys dedicate to these videos.

I just updated mine. Let’s do it soldiers, if anyone deserves a little more of a contribution it’s them. All the way to Rome, Berlin, and Tokyo, I’m with the army.

D-day the battle of meteorology! The allied meteorologist found a weather hole, the Germans didn’t and their high command took some R&R. Not that it was the one winning factor but it sure mattered.

I'm glad you guys aren't compromising how you publish your works with what the Youtube's algorithm and various parasitic sponsors demand you do. So many creators fall into peer pressure because they can't afford to say "Boo" to these ever changing (for the worse) goalposts. Even if for the specials you did eventually bite the bullet you still have very reasonable standards for your channel, so I haven't left the Timeghost Army. I may even consider doing a pledge for this project as you asked.

June 6th is the last day I have to submit my Master's thesis before summer. I really hope to get it done early so I can enjoy your content live. If not I guess it will be my personal D Day.

Thank you for making this series. My Granddad was a B17 pilot in late 43 to mid 44 and flew many missions in support of DDay. I have really enjoyed the ramp up to the series and look forward to seeing the finished product.

Greetings from Prague, Czech Republic (I think Indy mentioned he lived here for a time in one of the videos). Well, if the sponsor is not happy to help this wonderful show, extraordinary in many aspects (and also this channel since, for example, your videos about Cuban Missile Crisis are EXCELLENT), let us be the sponsors and use our numbers as an advantage!
