The Cullen Davis story has been huge to me for over 47 years since my mom Charlene Wheeler was selected as juror #5 on March 17, 1977 in the first trial in Fort Worth- but the judge declared a mistrial only 4 weeks later. Mom always felt certain the mistrial was based on a lie engineered by the prosecution & i still believe that today. Mom died in Dec 2009 at age 84 but i still hope one day her own story along with the true facts behind that mistrial can one day be told. Altho most of the key people in the story are gone now & the case is largely forgotten- Cullen Davis will be 91 next week & i still want to know for myself whether he's truly guilty or innocent of those murders. It's possible that today in 2024- Cullen Davis himself might literally be the only person alive who truly knows the answer & he swears he's innocent. My mom always believed that & i still "cautiously" do too. But still i hope the day comes we can answer that question with certainty.
