I always stop and help another boater, and will never take anything for helping. Thank you for helping the fellow boaters.

It’s good to have people out there willing to help, because being on a stranded boat sucks. I’ve towed in 3 people so far this summer and it amazes me how many people won’t stop when trying to be waved down. One thing I do is always carry cash on me because if I break down and someone has to tow me, the least I can do is give them a few bucks for their troubles.

I'm so glad you were there and willing to help that gentleman get back to the ramp.

Glad to see this act of what goes around, comes around!

Thats why you ACTUALLY test and don't listen to the internet. That view with less bow rise is worth it all by itself. People asking why wouldn't engine manufacturers incorporate these on new engines...its because these engines are put on a thousand different hulls and combinations. There is no way to predict every scenario. Most times these fins don't work great..but sometimes they do. Great job cap. Good to see someone take risks and do real tests.

I used to paint the inside of the drilled holes and I used stainless prevailing torque nuts. Take care, Skipper.

When fully loaded, take it easy with the foils. We broke two cavitation plates clean off ! They work well but don’t do well with quick changes in heavy loads. Stay safe .

It’s funny, as the camera was focused onto the instruments, I kept looking up to the top of the screen so I could look out for oncoming traffic or hazards.
Another good video Capt.

Looked like the display showed 3.1 gph with the Foil but 3.6 without it, when running ~4700. Generalized Hydrofoil owner comments seem to agree that it handles better with the foil (especially with hulls that like a hard chine) but produce a little less top end speed and a little less speed for a given rpm. Appreciate the video, Cap'n.

Good job Captain . Helping another Boatsman in need is the only choice out on the water . You handled that situation very well .
Also as someone else commented I wondered about the position of you’re motor up or down as far as correct measurements are concerned in relationship to the length of you’re out drive ? Some boats use what I think is called a skip jack which allows the motor to be adjusted up and down on the transom in order to get the optimum performance . It’s something to think about .

Am I the only one that cringed when he started drilling into that new gorgeous 200hp Yamaha? 😄 Love the videos. You explain the projects out so well. I have a hydrofoil on my merc 40hp and it is a really awesome thing to have on the engine.

The fins on my lower unit broke off.... I had them repaired, put em back on and broke em off again. They really helped till they broke off

That's awesome that it worked out for you, I have seen mixed reviews on them even in the comments on your last video, I know all boats are different and that's why all the mixed I'm just glad it worked out for you! And the guy you towed in! LOL! Thanks for sharing! 😎👍

I tried the SE 200 on my Suzuki 9.9 and it didn't work at all for me no matter how I trimmed the engine. I was half expecting a negative review, but it's always nice to see when someone tries something like this and has success. Nice video review!

Had a hydrofoil on my 90hp Merc, it was amazing, so much better on take off, corners, and slower plane speeds, I would always fit one to my outboard

I’ve put hydrofoils on larger I/O’s and small outboards. They really help you get on plane quicker and eliminate any cavitation. Definitely worth it on smaller engines.

I’ve been running the SE Sport 300 on our pontoon boat for 14 years. The difference is remarkable. We never get cavitation or prop blow out. The thrust is much better focused. Turning is more precise. It’s absolutely worth getting and the SE is the best in tested performance. Best single upgrade we’ve ever made to our boat hands down!
