BUDGET LS1 BUILD How much $$$ did it COST?!

people seem to really love these videos on what things cost, im very transparent when it comes to this stuff so in this weeks video i share what this engine has cost to build :)

I did pretty good then after looking at this. I picked up a MY9.5 VE SS wagon off my next door neighbour for $500. The car was on jack stands since the day I moved in. He said the starter motor died in it, then he purchased a new one, but bought the wrong type (there’s two types, clip or bolt style connectors) anyway he was going to call a scrap yard to pick it up as he had bought a new car, and I told him I would give him more than the few hundred bucks he had in mind.

He helped me push it next door to my house, I ordered a new starter motor and had it running the same week. I spent the next 3 months fixing everything that needed fixing (shocks, brakes, discs, hood lining, engine mounts, A/C) and then got it registered.

I’ve been daily driving it for just over 6 months now. Best Buy ever! Owes me $6500 now as it sits haha!

Awesome guide for someone like myself who needs to rebuild my ls1 aswell, I got lucky and found a good vy long motor with high flow oil pump for $2k till I can get together everything to do my rebuild!

Great video and I appreciate the honesty on the cost of your engine. I didn’t place a comment with my guess in time, but I was thinking approx $7k. Everyone thinks LS’s are cheap, but it still costs big money for big power and reliability. I like your engine build. 👍🏻
