This meteor is green because of the composition of magnesium in it, the colour of the meteor depends on its chemical composition.
The people who got a chance to see it were so lucky .

The camera man did a great job showing the land side so we could see the blue light better, had it been on the sky and ocean alone the effect wouldn’t be noticeable. Water is blue and so is sky ppl will think it’s just a reflection

I saw a meteor like this over my church's parking lot one night. It seemed to be a brighter blue. Lit everything up and then disintegrated. I asked everyone at my church if they saw it (no one else was in the parking lot). No one said they did. I searched for it on local news' websites. No mention of it.
This thing had to have come in shallow and must not have burned up until it was just a few thousand (few hundred???) feet up. This was several years ago and to this day, I can't believe no one else saw it.

I saw something to this effect once while I was driving at night. All of the sudden the entire world went bright green for about 5 seconds. I was driving out of a suburban area and was able to stop and observe everything around me. It was like night vision mode was turned on. It ended as fast as it had begun. It was the creepiest thing I ever saw.
