this one really hit me hard...i took my first solo trip last september, simply because i wanted to see the stars uninterrupted...i laid down on my inflatable mattress in the bed of my truck and just stared at the sky as it got darker and darker...the only thing i could hear was the odd free range cow grazing and some other wildlife...but the part i heard clearest was me...i needed that time alone...i needed that time to listen to my heart...it was the most beautiful thing i have ever experienced...i just stared at the stars and cried...i aint ashamed to admit it...i cried tears of joy, happiness, sadness, heartbreak...everything came out at once...it was exactly what we all need from time to time...the ability to reflect upon ourselves and all that we have been through...Shaun, my friend, you got me this time...i got choked up...this was the realest video i have seen thus far on youtube...much love and happy adventuring!

Hey Shaun, this is my honest opinion. For the first time in a while you made a video about something real. The situation as a beginner is something we all recognize and I think this is why you gained so many followers in the very beginning. Your video's made me believe anyone can do and experience this. Thank you.

I also like the fact that the ending of the video feels like the ending of the video, instead of the middle of the adventure.

I’ve always called the woods my church. It’s amazing the power it has to soothe your soul. As always, great video.

I think my best times were the old, near-stock TJ days of solo camping just as Shaun describes at the beginning of the video.
I miss those days.

Loved this video Shaun. I spend allot of time alone after losing my husband of 30 years last June. I own a beautiful Rubicon Gladiator I bought myself. I am hoping to go camping someday probably by myself. But in the meantime, your videos help me through my evenings and give me some hope for a future adventure that I would love someday to do. Thank you for the pleasure you give me watching and forgetting a little while how alone I really am.

I just got home from a five day Sierra trip. My 92 y/o dad recently passed. My reset. I found the most amazing place in the northeastern Sierras. Tribal land. Absolutely silent at night. No lights, no noise, no people....I needed this. Started out with a Plan A and Plan B. Both washed out. So I did a Plan C on the fly. No research, no nothing. It worked.

Quick solo camping trip up in the mountains outside of town right now....as I watch this! I hear nature....no horns, sirens, chatter or opinions. Literally thought to myself, before watching the video, that I am this stuff...and the video. Keep the spirit alive brother! Nice work.

I watched that video back in 2016. I believe logging mature trees brings new growth as in diversity as a by product of industrial wealth.

Sometimes I go out to the desert alone and yes the sound of silence is amazing.

Old but gold, reminds me of my old days in 1300dollar ‘95 rusty Pathfinder. Traveled solo to the Rockies, Yoho, Olds, Edmonton everywhere. Great times. Thanks!

I used to do solo trips in my 88 Cherokee. Then came the kids ... and they were in car seats when we started heading out (my son was two weeks old). I got ALOT of double takes when other wheelers passed us and saw the kids in the back seat (usually passed out). Then it got that much more awesome. ... still in that 88 Cherokee 24 years later ... back to solo. And when I come across logging activity I think. "Most everything we explore is because of logging or industry of some sort." If they didn't go there, to these places, we would never get there, we would have no way in. ... I say that, and I'm a bit of a tree hugger.... got that fire going quick. If you need a fan to get your campfire going, ... you aren't doing it right.

Do you want to know how beautiful this place is? Sean is a YouTuber, not an assistant director for movies. With a drone and excellent musical choices he captures the beauty. It's that beautiful. Open the border please. Between you and Casey Ive seen things and areas I never would have seen. Thank you I have to see it live. I'm ready..

Been doing solo camping for years. The silence and just listening to nature is awesome. I use my Suzuki DRZ400 for camping as well as the jeep. The DRZ will get me in to some places that even the Jeep can't make it to.

Wow!! That drone footage of the mist over the lake was insane. I had to rewind and see it again.

Love how you cut this together utilizing a lack of music and just good natural sound frequently. Beautifully done

I very much prefer solo travelling. You do what you want....stop where you want....eat what you want....it's pure bliss.
