I just got a Novation launchpad pro and my iphone app doesn't seem to know it's connected. I'm using the camera adapter and the lights turn on. How do I get my launchpad app to know it's there?

I’ve connected my mk2 to my iPad using the camera lightning to USB thing but I can’t figure out how to get it to work... oh and it also keeps coming up saying “mk2 requires too much power” on my screen

Ok so I own an mk2. I had bought an apple adapter that is just the usb to lightning. Is this wrong? Because it doesn’t connect. Someone told me to connect you have to have a mini, not the mk2, as it doesn’t have a low power mode. Is this other adapter different? What am I doing wrong?
