I honestly fw Seth McFarlane. Regardless of what the critical consensus is on his work, he is doing whatever he feels like doing and doesn't shy away from taking a step back from his cash cows in favour of newer avenues. Literally an artist's dream.

My guess is it’s better this way if he had stayed writing for Family Guy, and didn’t have the time to do other projects, it could cause him to get burnt out on doing Family Guy, and the quality of the show would decline and there wouldn’t be other Seth McFarlane things like A Million Ways to Die in the West Ted and The Orville
