I am much older than you but I have learned so much from you, including your algorithm coding videos and general talking such as this one. Thank you, best of luck.

I also left my software engineering job at the end of February and the reasons why are similar to yours, the biggest one probably is that I got comfortable.
Best wishes in your journey to finding an job that check all the checkboxes.

Fix the title to Why I quit my job (As a millionaire)

I've quit for similar reasons and now on a similar journey, your note about mentorship and having senior devs to give you constructive criticism really struck a chord, when you're relatively new to the field, you don't know what you don't know, having someone pointing to you the right directions is incredibly valuable. Life is too short to feel like you're just getting through the days and the days start to repeat themselves. I've worked at a series of local startups and will be staring at a FANG too. Your videos have been very helpful to me in preparing for my interviews. Best of luck to you at your new job!

Salary is always a parameter when you move on.You would be lying if you ignore that fact.

An important point which I don't think you mentioned: did you secure a new position before leaving your job?

Thank you for sharing, Kevin. It is interesting for me that you are trying really hard to mark that last checkbox.
Personally, I was never able to check all 3.
However, as you progress through your career please, remember the following, coming from someone significantly older than you:
1. Money matters - the 4th checkbox; most IT professionals are notoriously bad when it comes to managing that aspect of their careers
2. Family matters - if you are still not married (I don't see a wedding band), you will realize the family commitments will trump the work-related ones, especially when you have kids.
And by the way, enjoy working full throttle while you are not married. After that learning and working time will be considerably limited :)
3. There are professions beyond IT - nano tech, robotics, etc. If you reach a point in your career where IT can no longer fulfill you, don't forget there is more out there.

Once again, thank you for sharing and for all the LeetCode solutions. That saved me a boatload of time :)

I also kind of bored from my current job and recently received an offer from one of the Big 4 (considering to accept it) and really wanted to say "Thank you very much Kevin".
Your videos helped me a lot to understand and learn those leetcode questions, and I am pretty sure that you are helping and inspiring many other developers.
Congrats on your new role and wish you the best.

all great reasons for moving on. It's always good have a goal and to keep pushing yourself to achieve it. Good luck with the new position: can't wait to find out what it is, but understand that you will be heads down for at least three months. One thing that would be interesting to know: how much this channel, solving problems, and helping others played into the move from your perspective, and to getting hired by the new company. Cheers!

I gotta say, even though I felt like shit being so picky about my first job, I turned down so many job postings just because I thought the project/product is not humane or generally goes against humans than it helps them. So yes, I also believe that the project that you are working on should play a huge role on your decision - we should aspire to make the world better and not just fill rich people's pockets.

Hi Kevin, I think the third point you mentioned about mentorship is matter alot. Because it's really good to have bunch of people that encourages to continue have that motivation of doing well.
The other important thing is the willingness to be associated with giant like Google Microsoft Amazon, until then to always feel insecure so that it constantly challenges to put 100 percent to outperform.
And definately culture of company matter a lot.
