So happy to hear freelancing stories. And having conversations about burn out. This industry is an adventure and it’s hard to navigate. Thanks for sharing.

Hey there, I did the same last year and still going through this process. It's not easy but I am loving this so far, learning new things everyday. Wish we can all form a group to gain from each others struggles and experiences.

Best of luck, Maroš! I'm quite familiar with the feeling of burnout myself, so it's wonderful to hear you've found something you love doing. I'm looking forward for your updates! 🙂 Keep going strong! 💪

Good luck, seems like a good plan and probably the most fulfilling thing you can do. Greetings from Münster!

I have utmost respect for your decision and your way. For several months I've been hearing the voice in my head that I dream about developing my own side project. But I'm still scared to start. :/

This is food for my soul and this keep me dreaming on my side projects. Sometimes I think how Life goes fast, I’ve already worked for 5 years as a software engineer and I feel something must change. In italy salaries are so low and the trap is to be closed in the circle of comfort zone where the price of living is year after year not worth for the beauty of staying. Thsnks for sharing your experience.

Good luck from 4 times burned out dev! From my experience, burns are pretty similar, and I need just 1-2 month out of code to recover. And a side project is always a reason of burning from the first place. But I just can't live without one. So my 4-th burnout I've got from 2 years fulltime side project developing.

I am a 1st year SE student at a university, in Ethiopia. And listening to this made me feel unknown feeling which I can't even understand my self...

Hey, already interested in that iOS boilerplate tool! Let us know when it's live or if you need someone to test it

Negative colleges seem to be common. I think these corporate environments frustrate so many that burnout is just inevitable.
I was burnt out for at least a year after my last engineering job of 4 years too.

I'm a SE student willing to learn about ML but im bad or don't have much foundation with maths. But finally i decided to change my course from SE degree to DS. Feels hard when knowing that im going to say good bye with my classmates and also have to start my new journey alone.
I'm just nothing without religion.

Always rooting for you my friend!

I made the same decision to chase my dream project in the beginning of 2023. I had burned out after 2 months, took 2 months off and started over but on a more sustainable basis. If I would do it again, I would do it in a similar fashion to yours, which is that the project needs to support me financially already. At the moment, I am working part-time + working on my dream project for the remaining time. I want to note one important thing which is that no matter what happens, the biggest success is that of what you become while chasing your dream. What you have decided to do is definitely a harder path to take and I am pretty sure you already see transformative results in your life.

On a side note, I would be very curious to know your biggest WHY for choosing Trading Tracker as a project worth pursuing. Is the main reason the problem you had with trading back in the days? I could imagine that could be great source of motivation. Just curious, feel free to ignore!

Thanks for inspirational content and wish you the best luck Maros!
