I'd have to say number one would be not using the jumping fox thumbnail and piquing interest. Probably the most important part of niche review content

YESSSS!!!

The details, construction, elements!!!

Proof of Ph.D. training!!!

Accuracy, precision, reproducibility (unlike the Nature journals), integrity of results, context of results amidst preceding and competing trends, qualitative and quantitative assessments: a healthy equilibrium between subjective and objective conclusions substantiated with facts.

✒️ are no different and deserve no leniency!!!

Well done, good sir.

Not just, "Oh. . .how pretty with a great resale value."

Thank you for such a well put and thoughtful opinion! I appreciate a lot the "diplomacy" part, as you called, in the words of that food critic. At the end of the day, we all have different tastes, and this world needs more encouragement than aggression.
P. S. Light kept changing during this video and your face and background kept changing, especially near the end, that was a bit distracting

Thanks for putting the video and a thorough explanation. Enjoyed the perspective. 😊

Mr Brown, have you seen the short where the king is frustrated by a leaky pen?
What type of pen do you think it is? Mont Blanc? I hope the ink wasn't Bay State Blue (as if!! 🤣)

Dr. Brown will you be attending the Dallas Pen show next week? I hope so, I'll be there on Saturday and I would really enjoy meeting you in person instead of via video.

I've also become a lot more bias friendly when it comes to my ink reviews and trying not to sway someone one way or another and just give my personal up front opinion of a product. Recently I got a twsbi 580 iris and I love the pen for what it is however I for some wierd reason thought it came with a #6 size nib .. It does not it comes with a #5 size nib which was the whole reason I wanted the #6 size nibs so I could exchange them for one of my 14k #6 jowo full flex nibs and Now I'm going to get the comperable #5 size nib cause I like the flexibility ... while I was making the review a viewier in the chat reminded me that Fountain pen revolution makes a #5.5 nib so I took out the nib and put it in and it works great so Problem solved ... just goes to show you sometimes you have to listen to your fans to fix your predicaments HA! TAKE CARE TALK SOON <3 MMD

"Pen"dantic on, fine sir! You're fine by me! 😁
Having worked through college in a print shop, I get why your grandfather did what he did. And yes, the offset press ink has a different smell. (And, for me, I also enjoy the smell of paper. 😁 I remember being at a Barnes and Noble and the salesperson trying to sell me on a Nook. Shut him down with one question: "Do they smell like paper? If not, I'm not interested." 😁)

When I started into fountain pens etc I would watch your posts for several hours, back in the Samaria sword days. What you said was an education, a realisation that there were other people out there who are just as obsessed as myself with pens, ink and paper… and there are a lot of us.
Many pens are beyond any chance of holding never mind owning one, although I almost bought the Konid bulk filler until the VAT went on, then it was cancelled, ridiculous stupid amount. So be pedantic if you want, take your time and be verbose… those who don’t like what you say or your style can piss off some where else coz I reckon your A C E .

I've been watching your reviews for many years now, and they are excellent.
but please, please, please take your camera out of any auto exposure / white balance setting you use, as the constantly changing exposure makes certain videos very hard to watch.

I make pens from pen kits for fun... Mainly from PSI and Berea... All hand made. Can I send you a few to review? Normally I have folks choose a pen kit then a pen body. Thoughts?

A set of pages like that (katern) is called a signature. I’ve known that for years yet always forget it and have to look it up again.

That was quite interesting. Thank you.

Fit and finish is essential, especially if such items will affect the performance of the pen. Performance is the proper construction of the nib and feed but the fit of the feed into the collar and section. Does it write well? Will it work for many people? Will the fit and finish of the cap and barrel affect the performance of the pen or is it more of aesthetics? Etc.

A pen review should incorporate all these details and more. Ultimately it is worth using and buying?

I like when nibs are compared to a no. 2 pencil in feel and sound.
