As a precaution, I always rename the existing OST file as whatever.ost.old and then re-launch Outlook just in case something happens.

This doesn't help because I can't open my outlook email to click on FILE. It just shuts down after 3-4 seconds, deletes, won't stay open. Any other way?

Okey so I just delete the OST file with every Office app closed.
This wont break my Outlook account. Right?

Actually the proper question would be.
If I delete this OST file. Am I gonna lose emails, messages, and stuff.?

I checked my ost file size. It's more than 47GB. Is it compressing it actually worth it? Or deleting it will save me the waiting?
