COME SAY HI!

Frederiksborg Castle and Kronborg Castle are two of the most iconic castles in Denmark, each with its own unique history and character.

Frederiksborg Castle is located in Hillerød, about 40 kilometers north of Copenhagen. The castle was built in the early 17th century by King Christian IV, and it is considered one of the most important landmarks in Denmark. Frederiksborg Castle features a unique combination of Renaissance and Baroque architecture, and it is surrounded by beautiful gardens and a lake. The castle now houses the Museum of National History, which offers exhibits on Danish history and culture, as well as a large collection of portraits, historical objects, and decorative arts.

Kronborg Castle, on the other hand, is located in the town of Helsingør, about 50 kilometers north of Copenhagen. The castle was built in the 16th century and is best known as the setting for William Shakespeare's play "Hamlet." Kronborg Castle is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and features a mix of Renaissance and Baroque architecture. The castle offers stunning views of the sea and is a popular destination for tourists interested in Danish history and culture.

Both Frederiksborg Castle and Kronborg Castle are must-visit destinations for anyone interested in the rich cultural and historical heritage of Denmark. Each castle offers a unique experience and a glimpse into Denmark's fascinating past.

Can't believe I haven't found your channel before. Love your excitement about Frederiksborg, our mist magnificent castle, and Kronborg our oldest. We have a lot more to show you. And you should go to Christiansborg where the royal rooms that the royals still use for official purposes, are open to the public. As well as you can see the ruins of the two first castles that stood there, underneath Christiansborg.

Not sure whether the painting with the Dutch flag shows the Dutch rescuing the Danes. But the arrival of Dutch immigrants in Denmark in 1520 did have significance to our agriculture.

Thank you! Last April we traveled to Norway (loved it) and my interest in all of Scandinavia was peaked. So now Copenhagen is on my list. Your appreciation of the intersection of art and history is inspiring.

I really love the way you take contact to the people you meet, and as you said; Danish people will always help you and try to answer your questions. Or find another way to help you if they dont know the answer them selves.
I can’t stand the many videos of people visiting Danmark without trying to interact to the danish people at all. Even worse when they walk around being anoyed about something, but not trying to solve their problems by asking the locals.
Great video and I love your approach to travelling and making videos. Thank you. 😊👋🏼🇩🇰

If you think that train station in Hillerød is beautiful, you should see the one here in Esbjerg (on the West coast)... It's design resembles an old castle or a _really_ nice manor house.

It's actually heart warming to see an American who are really deeply interested in history.
The world would probably be a much better and safer place if more people bothered to learn from history.
One of the most important things about history is to learn from it to avoid making the same mistakes again and again.
Apart from that, history is fun. You tend to get new perspectives on a lot of things.
Your videos are great. Keep up the good work and stay safe.

The parties they held in the great hall could last for weeks and it was all about drinking and eating like maniacs. When they got full and couldn't eat more, they had a big bowl get send around and they used a birds feather to tiggle their uvula so they threw up, making room for more eating and drinking. They used it as a "party game" of sorts.

Ohh, you traveled to Helsingør (Elsinore) - that's my hometown 😊. Kronborg is quite stunning and it's placed surrounded by the waters of Øresund. I really love that you read about the places before you go. I do the same whenever I travel to foreign countries. The experience is so much better and my daughter is happy, because she doesn't have to study anything. She's relying on her mom as her personal "Wikipedia" 😁
Fun fact: The canons you walked by is used every year on the 16th of April. That's our Queens birthday 🎉

i"m so glad you highlighted the painting of the Danish soldiers in Afghanistan. Too few Americans appreciate our allies. The served and they made sacrifices in solidarity with the USA after 9/11.
