There are many incredible things to do in Copenhagen, so it has always bugged me when I hear from tourists who have wasted valuable sightseeing time going to this tourist trap...

In this video, I'm exploring one of the main tourist traps in Copenhagen, and then I'm taking you on a 30-minute tour where I show what you could do instead.

Have you visited the little mermaid in Copenhagen, and do you think it's a tourist trap or a must-do? Let me know in the comments 🇩🇰

Agree. But I love a walk along Larsens Plads and Ofelia Plads and do it every morning when I'm staying at the Admiral.

Hi, thanks for the videos I finding them very useful for my forthcoming trip to the city, what are your thoughts on Tivoli gardens, is it worth a visit and spending time for a single traveller, or shall I just take a selfie from the outside?

I agree with your list and opinion about the city.
For the mermaid - I always joke that the little mermaid is more little than mermaid :)
For a great view of Copenhagen I would always recommend people to go to a or Vor Frelsers kirke in Christinashavn. I think the view from there is much better than the round tower.

If you do one of the boat tours, they will pass by the mermaid anyway, so will save you the walk out there. My favorite part of my brief visit to Copenhagen was just wandering around Christianhaven and Nyhavn and sitting along the canal on a sunny afternoon having a cold beer watching everyone enjoying the sun.

when i went to Copenhagen i decided to go up into the christiansborg palace tower instead of the round tower and i´m glad i did the views where amazing and you could see above the fence and it was even free. So i would personally consider the round tower a tourist trap as well considering there´s a much better option:)

Watching tourists be disappointed by The Little Mermaid is a canon event. We cannot interfere 😂

I am coming to Copenhagen this weekend and thanks for the two tips with the round tower and the marble arch. But just one question is the bicycles free or do you have to pay?

I mean, the statue is literally called the LITTLE mermaid :D We are very literal here in Denmark.

"Loreley" is our/ in Germany "Little Mermaid" sitzing on the Rock in the River Rhein. Not soooo crowded like in Copenhagen, but still there!
It is a Rock massif near St. Goarshausen on the Rhine river. Actually not so lovely, till today it is a dangerous corner for the Ships to pass the Rock. The Statue is similar to that in Copenhagen, but not the tale behind it. First poems and legends from earlier days, later followed by a girl figure as a statue that can be admired. The most famous is the poem by Heinrich Heine. It shaped the figure of the Loreley as a kind of mermaid who, like a siren, captivates the Rhine boatmen with her song and her beauty, whereupon they perished due to the dangerous current and the rocky reefs. .... My idea was really for my first trip to Copenhagen to see "The little Mermaid"!, but not with all the visitors on the same time as reported, we will see!)
