Why Are Millions Left Behind? ~ Abandoned Castle From The 1600's

An abandoned building is not a forgotten building, it just hasn’t found its new lover yet. This was once the residence of an 18th century noble and his beloved family. He was a general who was active in the French revolutionary wars and defended the country with great pride. Even after he had passed, his descendants continued to live and laugh within the walls of the castle. Inside these walls, many clues and artifacts tell the events that took place here. The number of historic artifacts that have been left behind over the centuries is unfathomable. Every single room and corner in this place holds precious memories from the former times. It has now been a long time since there was activity in this wonderful place. The descendants of the French general have moved on and relocated to the bigger cities in search of work, leaving the castle behind to slowly wither away. When you walk through this place you get the feeling of being time-warped into the past. Walking through the rooms of the castle gives you the feeling of being time-warped into the past. Even though it is empty of life the walls still tell tales of the people that once lived here. If the walls in this place could talk they would tell tails of the former occupation.

It's a shame these beautiful old places are left empty!
Thanks for exploring, sharing!

The box under the table with two silver compartments is called a tea caddy box, tea was very expensive and people would lock it up so it wouldn't be stolen. Stay safe.

Exploring these beautiful castles is really a nice insight into early years of life for some people. I find it hard to believe that people just walk out of these beautiful homes and leave their furniture and life history behind. It's a shame that family somewhere doesn't want to claim it or at least take out the personal possessions that is part of their family history.

On the little bottle in the cabinet is written "Brou de noix". This is walnut kernel and a natural dye obtained from the pericarp of the walnut, rich in tannins that pigment with light. It is easy to make a solution of walnut kernel to color wood, get ink, or dye hair or textiles.

Admire your commitment to sleep in the car and start exploring at 6:39am without a morning coffee.

This castle seems in such good shape. It looks like a museum with all the interiors in good shape and untouched or damaged. Such a great place. I hope some day it does become a museum. It has so much history to offer the modern world.

Leslie, I am from Malaysia. Since subscribing to your channel 2-3 years ago, I have been watching your videos. And for this one, my third time I think.
The way you handle those artifacts can tell that you are a very respectful person! I think the "value intelligence" and the "moral intelligence" that is embedded in you are more important than the castle itself. Keep it up man!

WOW!! I have to say ~~ you are doing a magnificent job with these videos. Your choice of music is always perfect, fitting every situation. Your passion and compassion are evident, as is your absolute respect and emotions as you detail the findings and the history of the people who abruptly left, or died, or simply abandoned these places. I am from Switzerland and remember exploring old ruins as a child.. We found abandoned places in hidden locations. Some as old as Switzerland itself. PS I grew up there in the 1950ies!

Lesley, believe me, you are so handsome and gentle, respectful and nice, so its no problem, that you must run behind your co-star. 👍😉😉🌻 This I may say as an elderly woman. I didn' t see another influencer on tour, who was cleaning a room of abonded houses, to see the old glory of them. Thumps up to you all. 👍👍🤝🌻

The staircase is a work of art! It actually looks as if it has been "peeled" out of the ceiling. Beautiful.

Stair case is absolutely stunning. Thank you for being so respectful. Seeing ones in France is 💔... Due to family blood lines it touches a tender spot. Surely there must be extended blood relatives some place to claim, protect and over see their protection. This just saddens me too no end. The oil painting of the female with the shy grin was so beautiful. Looks as if location was used as a school for pastoral internships. The chapel area was breathtaking. 😳

This is one of the best videos of an abandoned home/mansion I’ve ever seen! Wish I could see it all in person and also wish we could all get a grasp on what happened to make someone leave so much beautiful (and weird) stuff!!! Thanks for filming and sharing your passion with us.

The feet on the bathtubs are not called paws in America. They are called claw foot tub. Also the box you found under the little table I believe it was used to hold coffee and tea It was very expensive back in the day. Servers would take some so owners would put it in a small box and lock them up. A small box so you could move it from room to room. I really enjoy your channel. Thank you very much for all the work you do for our enjoyment.
