"No Son Of Mine" by Genesis, from the album "We Can´t Dance" from 1991. The song is about a father and young son falling out, because of domestic abuse in the family. The song has a very sad story, and I try to capture that in the video. This is by far one of my favorite songs. I love Genesis, and I love Phil Collins. This is one of their greatest songs.

I think about my husband and cry as he went through this with his father, I have a narcissistic mother and I feel me and him were put in our path to give each other the love we didn't recieve at home, we are both so broken, these toxic parents bring us so much pain and heartache, but I will be there for him as long as I'm here. 😢🙏💔❤

...Man, this song was one of my favourites as a kid, and recently It hit me what this Song's meaning is... and how much it connects to people. This guy literally trying to put the past behind him, while his abusive dad would not put down his anger over somethin, technically, his own son did right.

My mom passed away a week before i wrote this comment, and although she wasn't really abusive, (She had Aspbergers syndrome) she could turn every situation into her being the victim. It struck me how bleeding close I was to being in this situation: I couldn't take my mom's emotional abuse for much longer, even though i loved her to the very end and then some. If she came back home from the Hospital that Thursday, I would have ran off.

This song... Its not just about the kid running away from the abuse, but the parent refusing to see the adult who came back looking for help.
