Former Israeli sniper says war on Gaza is strengthening Hamas

The recent killing of three Israeli hostages by the Israeli military has sparked a wider discussion on Israel's conduct in the Gaza Strip, where over 20,400 Palestinians have lost their lives. While we have heard from aid workers, civilians on both sides, and politicians, the voices of those intimately familiar with combat in the occupied territories have been largely absent. Breaking the Silence is an Israeli whistleblower group that gathers testimonies from former soldiers, shedding light on how the military occupation plays out on the ground. "Indiscriminate bombing is not a way forward, definitely not a way to shift public opinion within the Strip. But also not a way to move forward to a day after, where we don’t conduct our relationship with Palestinians in the West Bank or Gaza through the scope of our gun," says Avner Gvaryahu, executive director of Breaking the Silence and a former Israeli sniper.

Why does the press keep talking about the "accidental" shooting of the 3 hostages? One of them was actually hunted down when he survived the original shooting. How is that accidental?

This has nothing to do with HAMAS. If Netanyahu and his IDF thought that, they wouldn't be murdering innocent Palestinians - children. In the West Bank the IDF is allowing Israeli settlers are engaging in ethnic cleansing.

People have the right to break free from their oppression, if you have been born into a concentration camp, your whole life under occupation and misery with no past, no present, and no future.... It doesn't sound like the hostages were Fleeing their captors..according to his father they had been there for 2 days surviving and had written the SOS thing. None were trying to get them Back so either had been gone that long or as it has appeared with other hostages. Never harmed so they let them go hoping the best for them.
The one was former special force like his dad and knew EVERYTHING TO DO RIGHT to not get shot. But still was murdered like any other Palestinian with a flag

Have noticed he didn’t once mentioned “civilians” and though what he was describing sometimes were about killing civilians, one can see clearly he was fighting with himself not to portray that the IDF was targeting civilians…..let alone mentioning the unnecessary yet deliberate killing of women and children. Therefore I just don’t know what the purpose of his organisation “breaking the silence” is, if he’s not prepared to admit and state clearly the IDF killing deliberately women and children, when the whole is provided daily videos of targeting civilians.
