Intro Stats, Lec 27A, Confidence & Prediction Intervals in Regression, ANOVA Spreadsheet Output

Показать описание
Learn how to find and interpret the following in simple linear regression: confidence intervals, prediction intervals, and ANOVA spreadsheet output.
(0:00) Introduction
(0:17) The last day of class.
(0:41) Tests are meant to be learning experiences.
(1:12) Class plan.
(1:37) Information about the Final Exam.
(2:22) Standard error formulas for C.I.s to estimate the mean of y given x and P.I.s to estimate the next observed value of y given x.
(4:05) Will practice the formulas.
(4:26) T-Bill Return vs. Inflation example on spreadsheet. Review numbers in spreadsheet.
(7:48) Begin practice with formulas to find the 95% C.I. and P.I. when x = x* = 3.
(11:22) Find SSxx using the standard deviation of the x's and the sample size -- you may need to do this on the Final Exam.
(12:38) Find the predicted value of y ("y hat") when x = x* = 3.
(13:30) Find the standard errors for both intervals.
(17:48) Find the lower and upper endpoints of the intervals (and describe the interpretations of the intervals).
(23:00) Find ANOVA output for Income vs. Age Example.
(25:07) Identify the quantities in the top and bottom of the output, write hypotheses for the most common t-test for the slope, and state the conclusion of the test.
(27:09) Review of the content of the ANOVA output (df, SS, MS, F, and Significance Columns).
