Watch until end to hear Chomsky's final thoughts.

It's not Noam Chomsky . It's consciousness explaining itself in itself to itself.. There is no Noam Chomsky.

I so appreciate these gems with Noam Chomsky. I’ve never heard a more eloquent explanation of the Newton-Cartesian view of a mechanistic world. So interesting to consider that Newton solved the mind/body problem by mathematical observation with no hypothesis.

Gandalf hasn't aged a single day since the age of middle earth!

Seriously though, this man deserves respect and every single person's attention on everything he has to say. He's a living encyclopedia and truly a modern wizard and his thirst for knowledge is massively inspirational. Thank you both!

It’s worth noting, however, that according to Descartes own account, the idea for the philosophy was communicated to him in a dream by an angel.

Perhaps Noam can explain where ontological mathematics fits in with his belief system

He gives a highly idiossyncratic account informed by a particular worldview. Oh that someone would actually explain consciousness (and that we could have espistemic certainty of the accuracy his explanation)!

to me the mind body problem is that the mind naturally is eternal, unlimited, and nonphysical, thoughts and creativity arent concrete. however the body is dense, perishable and limited. a fence, or at worst, a prison for the mind. ultimately the cause of human suffering

Seems that just like we don't percieve the world itself, but only an image of it, we also don't "percieve" perception itself, but only a theory of it. In fact, as he says, even for the world itself only a theory would work as well, not some kind of mechanical or formal or visual thing.

So all we really have are unconscious epistemological theories for any kind of thing, that we try to put forth.

"Explains Consciousness".. Yeah. Good luck with that. You'll get no further than the last 1000 individuals who thought they had it all figured out. What do they all have in common you ask? They are dead, and they are no longer conscious. So much for that answer.

Well, Noam didn't explain Consciousness,
but rather,
'if You have a mind-body problem, consult your doctor'.

Rainbow is the naked picture of our Eternal Consciousness,
a Set of Eternal Abilities,
that also make 'this device' work.
Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo.
Instinct, Gravity, Feeling, Intelligence, Intuition, Memory.
Automatic, Power, Sensors, Logic and Order, (*) Harddisc.
So, it is ultra short.
In addition is a Set of Creator-Principles,
Contrast-Principle and Perspective-Principle,
(part of the Motion-Principle)
makes Feeling into Sensing,
and Perspectiv-Principle makes Intelligence
into Mathematic.
The full detailed picture, is a extensive study,
but Rainbow is our Over-Consciousness, as holds our
Under-consciousness = Day-Consciousness and Night-Consciousness,
Wake/physical/Gravity, + 5
(REM is our Coupling-Body)
Day-Consciousness is our Window to Reality, it Never sleep,
but moves in Circuits, Day/Night and Larger.
The Circuit-Principle is also very Basic, it is at all levels,
at the Stuff-side, and the Life-side.
(*Intuition, needs more space to explain)

There's no body, there's no matter, there's no physical, so there's no mind-body problem.

Nothing needs to be added to that final sentence, but if I would, I'd say there's also no mind.

There's just existence, an unbounded, unlimited force so extreme that it just can't avoid to be and become. So "to be", "to become", and "to experience" are all three aspects of that obliterating force that we call *aliveness, * or just "existence" when we try to make it less impressive and miraculous than it actually is.

That's also what most people nowadays try to refer to as "consciousness", but I kinda feel that this word is almost insignificant and do no justice to the reality of this. Because it's not just "consciousness", it's also will, it's power, it's an obliterating aliveness, it's a force so big that there's nothing that could stop it... And it's just alive, it always has been, it always will be, and it's us.

Consciousness is the marriage of awareness and conscience. Awareness has degrees, and consciousness has levels. There are one-hundred and twenty levels corresponding to the one-hundred and twenty years in the life of Moshe our Teacher. Consciousness is experienced in nonmaterial realms - outside of the body. The body responds to the mind in a well-designed correspondence relationship. There is no physical docking station linking or connecting the body to the mind. Mind is free. Which is why the will is free. For mind or atitude directs the will. Attitude is the degree in Mind. An angle or an arc of awareness is an abstraction understood without any physical reference. The Mind is definitionally without boundaries, edges, or sides.
