It's the latest multiverse superhero film and possibly the beginning of the new DCEU. Does Doug think it's worth your time? Let's take a look at The Flash.

The Flash is a 2023 American superhero film based on the DC Comics character of the same name. Produced by Warner Bros. Pictures, DC Studios, Double Dream, and the Disco Factory, and set for distribution by Warner Bros. Pictures,[4] it is intended to be the 13th installment in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). The film is directed by Andy Muschietti from a screenplay by Christina Hodson and stars Ezra Miller as Barry Allen / The Flash alongside Sasha Calle, Michael Shannon, Ron Livingston, Maribel Verdú, Kiersey Clemons, Antje Traue, and Michael Keaton. In the film, Barry travels back in time to prevent his mother's death, which brings unintended consequences.

Michael Keaton carried this movie, his sets, his performance, the soundtrack, it’s all classic Burton Batman and worth the watch

There’s a scene in the middle where Keaton gets to fight as Batman the way you THOUGHT he fought in 1989. That definitely made the film worth it.

I loved the part where Barry tried to save his mother and Spider-man 2099 was like ''Bro, this is a cannon event''.

I agree, the first part of the movie was bumpy and awkward. Ezra's acting was so bad at first but then I got used to it. Once Keaton showed up, everything came together. Supergirl was fantastic, she did a good job portraying the agony of that character. I wished we had more of her! And the surprise cameo at the end! Everyone in my theater said "oh my God!"

It's sad to think that thos is one of the better films in the DC Cinematic Universe. Overall, I liked it okay. I just wish they had gotten a different actor.

I wonder if we could get a comparison between this film and the animated of Flashpoint Paradox.
Both try something similar, and something different at the same Time.
For example, Flashpoint Paradox is more a "comic book event" Vibe, while this one ALSO has to act like an origin story.
Not to mention, Flashpoint Paradox basically gives the Main moral THIS movie wants to give:
"accept the things that You cannot change. Have the courage to change the things You can, and have the wisdom to know the difference"

I like some of the changes from the Flash Point story but definitely not all. I mean for those who have read it or seen the animated movie the ending with the letter from Thomas Wayne is just amazing and I’m sad we didn’t get that especially. And Thomas in general though it was great to see Keaton again. One of my favorite scenes was when we saw sewing up his wounds he just looks in the mirror. He gives a smirk and you can how happy he is to be bleeding from fight again.

This is the one of the better DCEU films I’ve seen. Take that as you will.

I had a great time at the theatre with this movie. I elbowed my friend when THAT scene happened with the unexpected Superman cameo towards the end. I loved having Keaton back as Batman. Keaton in the suit worked for me. He's older, I accepted it. It was great!

Nice to see Doug giving Daisy Ridley some credit.😊
(And no, I'm not a Sequel fan, but that wasn't her fault).

So many people I know thought Spider-Man No Way Home that did that formula first of bringing so many classic actors back as their characters again but they're honestly incorrect. DC did it first & already done it before, in the CW special, Crisis on Infinite Earths

The two barrys together made me think of Bill and George Denbrough from IT, like what if Bill had saved Georgie from Pennywise and got to grow up. They even have younger barry in a yellow coat.

Hopefully Michael Keaton can have his own Batman movies in the future

CGI is not easy to do and I understand it’s more complicated to do. Side note spoilers alert the vfx can for forgiven for finally having nic cage as Superman

I’m from the Big Island of Hawaii. Ezra Miller went on a rampage through my home districts of Puna and Hilo. He wound up assaulting a close friend of mine and unfortunately I was not there at the time to protect her from Ezra. That being said, I will NEVER support any Ezra Miller film in my lifetime. Most of the State of Hawaii feels the same. Ezra Miller is on the Aloha State’s “S List”. Anyways, that said, Doug Walker is rad and I enjoy his reviews. Alohas everyone and have a blessed day.

I could go for a Batman Beyond with Keaton as Bruce.

It's kind of crazy that Spiderverse isn't even pushing at all for realistic rendering (a la films like How to Train Your Dragon) but still looks more real than this actual live-action film,

The movie was made from April 18, 2021 to October 19, 2021, it was going to come out in July 2022, but all that changed with reshoots and the infamous Ezra Miller choking incident.

as a flash movie this is exactly what I was looking for, I definitely saw the problems but the good far outweighs the bad. 8/10 for me. I was hoping itd be better then spiderverse bc I like flash more then spiderman but spiderverse went so above and beyond that I realized it was too high of a bar to set for the flash movie, definitely second favorite movie of the year so far.
