As a brit who reads a lot of PBR Vietnam books
Id say this boat would be just what was needed back then

Was a fan of the MTB, PT boats from WWII. I would have joined the Royal Navy if they still had that style of vessel in the 70-80s.

A $15million Yacht with guns and grenades, high-speed internet, big engines, and special sensors? WOW!

if this was available when I served in the Navy (1987-91), I would had stayed in and serve my 20 or more. Instead, I transferred to the Army. 😒 I did love my four years in the Navy.

I grew up in a Navy family. At 6'9+" I was too tall for service. Vids like this make me wish I stopped growing about 6 or 7 inches earlier! 😁👍

In 1980, I was @ a small shipyard in Pt. Everglades for work on a keel cooler on a large tug, and in the slip next to us was a 50ft naval craft partially covered w/ a tarp. It was dry docked so I was able to see the telescoping wing under the bow and the stern “wing”, which hydraulically swung up out of the water. Intrigued, I started taking pictures and was immediately halted by a senior chief there. Being the engineer on my vessel, I explained I was only interested from an engineering standpoint. He said it was a new high speed experimental vessel from Norfolk which had a breakdown on sea trials but was classified so NO Pictures. I’ve still got them though and it is a beast. Turbine jet boat riding on wings was what I observed and have never seen another. It was likely a drug interdiction or special ops vessel. Wow

As an ex-marine I'd have loved to been part of that boat crew! Great film clip! Thanks for posting

I see the M2 is still going strong, they're changing barrels just like their (great)granddads used to do, it's into it's second century now ! 4:00

McHales Navy - PT 73 - torpedo and machine guns, maybe even depth charges, speed enough to dodge a torpedo. Sweet gig

K I will take one, without the heavy weapons though. Be nice if you left the GPMG’S on board as I’m a fan, as well as a survivor from the gunner moving the gun round putting a new belt on and the muzzle ended up slightly right of my right ear when he let go with about a 20 round burst., woke up in the hospital lol Where can I pick it up?.

Watching the gunnery practice it seems to me the safest place to be is directly in front of the target.

Are these the same ones that surrender to Iraqi Boston Whalers?

Your last line: ", ,,to make sure they get the 'soldiers' back home!" You're the moderator of a Navy patrol boat video and don't know that you're talking about SAILORS AND MARINES???

Know that Riverine isn't a Rate but a Billet. Which is a good thing because it means it's not like SEALS or SWCCS which depending on what your issues might be extremely difficult to get into, it is hard because you do have to undergo training for it but not as hard. Really want to get stationed with these people and do this job.

Pretty cool boat. I'm thankful that we still have young people who are proud to serve our country . This would be a great assignment.
