I’m so happy to finally see someone disagree with the cardboard character trope. You’re not writing a vessel, you’re writing a CHARACTER. That’s why Stephen King’s stories work as well as they do. He’s one of very few horror authors who actually take time to develop very specific and grounded characters instead of just an everyman puppet to put in situations

I'm going to be honest, a young writer giving advice was somewhat uncertain at first. But after watching i saw better advice, more impacting information, and more inspirational content than I've found anywhere else. Definitely sticking around for future content. Absolutely loved it

These tips are so helpful. I really love the four pinnacles of horror you mentioned. I can already imagine examples of each of these 4 things that I am already truly afraid of in real life. I feel so inspired, thank you.

The main antagonists in the series of sci-fi horror stories I'm writing are giant spiders, human-spider hybrids, & monstrous, half-human spider creatures, all created by the military as part of an experiment in genetic manipulation, & which prey on humans, & kill in an extremely brutal fashion. They end up escaping from a military base on the outskirts of the city, & fleeing into the darkness of the sewers beneath the city. Parts of the stories take place in the dark, thick jungles of a remote tropical island called Isla Arana, or Spider Island, where the experiments began. The stories play on our primal fear of spiders.

Derry, Maine in Steven King's, It is a great example of a picturesque town full of evil. One of the characters said "evil was in Derry's soil."`

I'm writing a horror novel about an haunted apartment building. The main character, who's lesbian & trans, her wife, who is bisexual and their fellow tenants have to figure out what's going on & how to stop the evil ghosts. These tips really helped.
