“And I cook with propane, gives nice taste of meat” or something along those lines

That was a good example of what's needed is fixed with what we got.
I'd look around for a gas construction heater to salvage a setup, but that's probably because they're an easy find around here.
Keep these tidbits coming whenever you're able Hyce, so interesting to see what solutions are made for steam trains!

I just got my kit to convert my 1997 Jeep Wrangler to mulitfuel, petrol, natural petrol gas, and propane. It was salvaged from a wreck so it cost very affordable. I look forward to the installation.

I see that we're making the fireman's job easy. no more scoping for when running 20. My only question is if you did would it be cheaper than shoveling coal?

This would only be good enough to provide enough power for moving the engine around the yard. Maybe you would need a lot more burners spread throughout the firebox in order to properly provide propane Fuel for heating the entire firebox maybe they're just throwing it out in preparation for the regular fuels. They don't have to use so much to get it started?

So all we need, is a gas tank inside the water hatch, a pipe running through the tank and a hole in the fire box where the gas can pool. Then we get propane fueled heaters, and turn them on via special valve in the cab. With the addition of the gas being burnt, this can be state of the art fuel consumption for steam locomotives

How fast does this warm the boiler. (I presume you take it to steam, or do you heat it up to MAWP?)

Now that I think of it Jay Leno’s 1905 stream thrasher is powered by propane. Useless fact for the day.

What pressure did it get her up to? and would that little flame allow any kind of sustained moving?

This is when you should cook something in the smoke box. Don’t need to worry about coal dust!
