That video of the Mig-29 retracting its landing gear too early sure is sharp and high quality!

Aeroplane Monthly a few years back ran a feature about a USAF F-86 Sabre pilot. One of his disclosures was that it was Gung Ho to retract the gear as soon as flying speed was reached, occasionally to the embarrassment of the pilot. This splendid chap flew in Korea, firstly in F-84 Thunderjets before converting to Sabres . He told of his first solo flight in a Sabre, not one you would have expected. Taxing to the runway was told to wait whilst another F-86 took off . With professional interest watched the Jet accelerate down the runway, lift off and began its climb. Suddenly it blew up, all was quite for a few seconds, then the controller spoke his call sign and said the runway is clear for your take off. According to him the early Sabres had a tendency to explode if, I can only guess, that if the throttle was opened too quick . Different breed of men in those days, they had balls and knew what they were for, not to be removed and start prancing around as a tart.

0:31 - that almost looks like it has vectoring jets on it. Not thrust vectoring on the main engines, but like "space shuttle" sort of jets on the sides to push the thing into a sharper turn, or something. he seems to be using them to try to keep the plane straight on the runway.

Only retract the gear when your VSI shows positive rate of climb!

The fighter jet didn't retract the gear too early, the fighter jock retracted the gear too early.

It's interesting to note that during the stratocaster landing all the worthless wind turbines are not turning. Hundreds of millions of dollars sitting still, not generating anything, making the landscape ugly.
