Показать описание
Moderated by artist and writer Camille Bacon, this panel discussion explores poet, playwright and essayist June Jordan’s legacy and impact on architecture as it relates to the lives of Black families and communities in the city of the future; this conversation also places the redevelopment of NBT’s building to serve as a destination for Black culture through theater in this context. This conversation features NBT Executive Artistic Director Jonathan McCrory, and artist and cultural strategist Ebony Noelle Golden, with a creative offering by writer, director, musician, and performer Nazareth Hassan.
This panel was presented as part of Salon: Hidden Conversations. In commemoration of Juneteenth, Park Avenue Armory partnered with National Black Theatre (NBT) to uplift the work and impact of NBT founder Dr. Barbara Ann Teer as well as the ways she and many others serve as hidden architects of culture to help empower society, drive innovation, and foster community and social impact.
