Digital Art for Beginners: Light and Shadow Color Tip for Drawing

In this video I'm going to share with you a tip on how to pick a color for your light and shadow for drawing, and how to add it to your illustration. Digital art tutorial with Procreate, but this tip can be used in any digital app for drawing. Adding lighting this way will make your illustration look more interesting and stand out, but of course this is my opinion, and if you prefer to do it in a different way, there is noting wrong with it:)

Great tutorial!! I always have a hard time selecting the colors for light and shadow so I tend to use white and black a lot, but your tips of using complentary color or overlay blending more are great and definitely helpful!

Thank you very much! I'm trying to improve how I color, and you explained the blending modes quite clear to me. Some tutorials I found just direct you (like use multiply, use overlay, use blur, etc.), and never explained how they really work. I'm slow and learn faster by breaking down everything before I could get how they come together in the end. This has helped me a lot!
