Session Description
While COVID has initially reduced the number of non-COVID hospitalizations, maternal and neonatal care in the context of pregnancy, delivery, and both well and sick newborns continues at the usual pace. We will discuss the current knowledge and gaps in knowledge on COVID for pregnant women and newborns, transmission of COVID to babies, international experiences in perinatal care during this time, and LPCH implementation of policies in order to provide optimal, safe care in the context of COVID.

Education Goals
During this session, attendees will learn about:
Current knowledge on COVID for mothers and newborns, including COVID transmission
Best practices surrounding perinatal care, including reducing transmission and breastfeeding
Practical strategies for providing family centered care for mothers, well babies, and babies in the NICU
Optimizing healthcare worker protection in the labor and delivery setting
