I check out my Beatles Introducing the Beatles LP to see if it's a real VeeJay issued record or a fake.

VeeJay was an undependent label based in Chicago. Formed in 1953, they were primarily a rhythm & blues label. Their biggest hit maker was early Four Seasons. When Vee Jay accepted the Beatles, it created a hardship in meeting record demands. The label had financial problems in 1965 and soon folded.

The inside flap is usually very narrow as well.

I have 2 original pressings. One with the VJ bracket label and one with the VJ oval logo. You can also do a sound comparising. The fake pressing has a lower fidelity than the original genuine pressing.

I also had an Allentown pressing for the Version 1, extremely scarce to find.I also had a Version 1 Nashville, which has a wider dead wax area, but will have, like the flagship Owosso plant pressing(a copy of the Owosso plate was sent to Southern Plastics), the telltale 6-29-63date in the dead wax area and in the colorband area, will have the deep orange, light lemon yellow and deep blue shades associated with the mid'63 lp and 45 color hues in the colorband(check out copies of Candy Girl(4 Seasons)from this period. They match up.

Hate to tell you, but it's a fake, dear. The Beatles artist listing below the playhole is the giveaway.Stereos always list stereo on the label as well.Stereos were pressed by Columbia/Monarch(LA), Owosso, Mi.(ARP), Nashville, TN.(Southern Plastics)and Allentown, Pa.(ARC), usually.

Mine was in a mono cover, but an Allentown, Version 2, with "stereo""stereo"on each side of the VJ logo(stereo VJ stereo).

I have a genuine mono copy but I have never seen, not even on the internet, a genuine stereo one. You can almost guarantee that a stereo one is a fake.

Also, it is not stereo if it is a fake. The real versions say "stereo" on the label.

There ARE two versions. Both versions are legit, how do you tell them apart? I am half way through hope to hear about there being two versions and their differences

If you can’t see Paul’s hands it’s a fake. The black and silver labeled ones are also fakes. If you have a rainbow label like yours, you can immediately tell it’s a fake just by the rainbow. Your’s has a very lo-fi look to it, when it should look just as good as the Capitol rainbow label. The other thing’s you mentioned are also true, but these two things are additional and don’t require a lot of examination to clearly identify.

Simple if the beatles on the label is over the spindle hole, it's real, if under spindlehold. Fake
