What is ServiceNow? A ServiceNow Platform Overview

What is ServiceNow? Is it a ticketing tool, a configuration management database (CMDB), a workflow development tool, or an enterprise-wide database? ServiceNow can actually mean a lot of different things to different people with different perspectives (personas). The best way to begin to understand all that ServiceNow is, is to look at it from a platform perspective. When it comes down to it, ServiceNow is a cloud-based technology platform, consisting of an enterprise-wide database, suite of applications, and a development environment designed to provide IT services that solve a company's business problems.

Great video. Very good job. Well explained for sure. Loved the comparison with iPhone. I would just add that ServiceNow is not limited to "common IT services" (minute 3:33) considering the platform also supports HR processes through the HRSD subscription and any other business business process (Finance, Sourcing, etc) through fit for purpose apps/workflows developed via App Engine. But again.. great job. Keep up helping our community.

Hi Jeff, I had an interface question that you may possibly know. is there a way to place a language toggle on the user interface, so they can change the language at the page level, instead of going through "service portal/user profile/preferences..." ?

I always look at ServiceNow as a cloud platform the great thing you don't need to worry about data security and scaling
