HDD vs SSD vs M.2 NVMe in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl. The minimum requirements for Stalker 2 state that a SSD is required to play the game, so I thought I'd test that.

Listen ppl for the players that use Hdd as primary or secondary storage, the application disk cache enabler from Nexus mods web uses a good amount of Gb RAM in your system and acts as the one extra hand shortening the long 4ss loading screen nd stuttering in-game and with the function on Nvidia app in graphic options, global confuguration and put Shader Cache Size in 100 Gb that prevents load again shaders after first time with optimized settings for the second time(making sure in some option has the green button optimized for this game)

I made the mistake to install it first on my HDD. I eventually switched to my SSD. It was unbearable.

PS: We have the same HDD and SATA SSD.

M.2 read/write speeds vary. My load time is under 1:20. I can't imagine having a rig with HDD as main storage and playing these modern games😱😱

Idk what is everyone doing wrong but the shader compilation on my system (4070, 7800x3d, 32gb 6000mhz cl28) is much shorter.. It takes like 30-40 seconds max..

I play this on an HDD, not only does it take like 20 minutes to play, but textures take a lot to load, and the game sh1ts itself from time to time, it goes to like 15fps and no, its not the rest of the computer's problem.

I have a RTX 3070, Ryzen 7 5700 and 32gb of ram.

I definitely need to buy a 1tb ssd asap

This game is so random, I had a invisible mutant I already forget what they're called a Monolith? Or am I mixing shit up? But yeah Right at 4:17 he popped outta no where scared the living shitola out of me. Weird that it never spawned for you.
