Why I prefer discord

1. Easy to join/low barrier entry
2. Can create your own bot/ fun community bots
3. Nice UI

it became popular because of the clean ui and the ability to make tons of servers FOR FREE

Teamspeak went downhill when they changed the non profit license. Basicly it cost more for a guild to pay for a dedicated IP and domain name and email linked to that domain, than it cost to rent a server from a big company.

Before this WoW guilds would run a free server on their home network, but teamspeak wanted an arm and a leg for that after the update. With discord being free it was a no brainer.
Teamspeak got greedy and in doing so alienated the majority of their userbase.

The fact that there is a continous calling sound in the background makes me a whole nother level of mad. Why did you do this...

Good video though.

@SealedOfficial You forgot about to talk about Curse Voice.
It had all the features discord did, but it started getting the same attacks as Skype.
Everyone was looking for a new voice and sharing service at the time. Discord was functioning so people went there. Discord was calming it was more secure there could be foul play who knows.
Microsoft tried to buy Discord I'm glad they declined.

all the other voice communication servers such as this were getting cyber attacked and people needed a new place to talk and discord was working so people went there. It was so frustrating being a gamer at the time.
It was so bad people were trying to use in game voice and stuff.
How about you talk about that too.

I dont like discord cause of the amount of degeneracy is on the platform, i might just make my own alternative to discord.

I use discord but mostly as a forum and on occasion as a screen share platform. As my self and community have used Teamspeak 3 since before discord. We find it cheaper to have one member admin and pay for the monthly TS3 server for a higher quality then have everyone pay and boost to get the same level of quality. Sure discord is easy to use and i do recommend it but i still prefer TS3 as we can mess around with the codec quality on the fly and know who is actually active in the community by seeing them show up in the TS3 even if they go to the AFK channel, which is better then seeing all the inactive name in a discord.
