What I hate about the Mazda 6 the fact that I don't have one parked on my driveway .

People can be so disrespectful on the internet. The guy is just giving useful information for those who are interested in the 6. Even if the things he disliked doesn't bother you that much, there is no need to hate on him. Great video in my opinion

These are pretty teeny tiny minor complaints.

As someone who has driven a Mazda 6 for the last 3 years, none of these issues bother me personally. The only thing that I give any amount of credence to is the way the heads up display "screen" doesn't drop down when disabled. I think the video was legit, because the owner is just indicating what he thinks should be different or improved. How insignificant they seem to me just reinforces how good I think the Mazda 6 is.

Hehe, I've already made up my mind about this being my next car, and I'm really pleased to see that these tiny annoyances are your top 5 things you dislike. :) Thanks, bud.

Those are legitimate minor nitpicks, but 'hate' is a strong word. I bet most of the dislikes this video has received are a reaction to the title.

I hope the dislikes don't discourage you, this is exactly the kind of information that EVERY car review should include, well done.

Use silicone spray and apply to all your weather stripping, trunk seals and door locks and window guides in the door frames, wipe any excess off and keep the overspray off of your paint, retreat your weatherstripping/door seals at least once a year. This should keep your doors from sticking and preserve the rubber

I recently purchased a 2017 mazda 6 gt and I am pretty happy with everything about it. My minor dislikes are; It has no interior compartment space. the glove box and center console are absolutely tiny. The heads up display is also odd. I feel it changes every time I turn the car on. I can't say anything adjusts or changes for certain, but it seems like it is in a different place every time I turn the car on. Otherwise I love it. Seats feel great, seating space is good, the audio system is seamless, I don't have to change settings, Bose knows. I will admit, I fell in love with my car for the comfort. I would like more power, but I do enjoy getting in and driving home never the less.

I'm in the market for a new sedan and this is one of the cars I'm looking at. I really appreciate the things you've pointed out. I happen to agree with most of it. The video is helpful to me. Thanks!

Excellent video and valid list. Thanks for publishing it.

Agree with you on the stock tires...they are also quite noisy. For the trunk, I actually like that it doesn't open up on its own. If you pop the trunk at a distance, and have anything valuable inside, you are risking it being exposed to theft.

Disrespectfulness has gotten way too far out of hand on the internet recently. What makes people think it's OK to curse someone out on the internet because they don't agree with someone else? You wouldn't talk like that to someone in real life, would you? What makes the internet and exception?
Great video man. I own the 2016 Mazda 6 but the Touring, not the GT. It's the best interior you can get for under 30k but I definitely saw two of your points coming in the video.

Glad you got the 6. But to address todays episode of Nit-Pick Theater:
1. Not a problem. It opened.
2. Is a prop rod really that much of an inconvenience?
3. Complain that they can't be cleaned. Shows how to clean them.
4. I get it, but why would you ever turn it off?
5. It's rare to have more than 2 band in almost any car, and if you can't hear the difference with the Centerpoint on, you need to get your ears checked.
Bonus Gripe 1. That's what happens to water when it gets too cold.
Bonus Gripe 2. I have not had winter yet, but I imagine "slow down" might help.

Guess I'm hating on the vid too much. There's really nothing to gripe about with the 6, so the only thing you can go with is the nit picking

Man this is arguably the best mid size sedan out there you can get for the money it is priced, id go with a touring version cause its cheaper and you can get a manual and almost all the perks the GT version comes with, you will find all these 5 nitpicks in almost every car in Mazda6 price range

1. Agreed. Several of my earlier Mazdas were sedans with a trunk like yours, and if you look up underneath the parcel shelf where the long spring rods are (if that's still the way they do it) that hold the trunk lid open, you may notice that they have several positions they can be seated in to add more tension to the spring rods. It takes a little flexibility and muscle to get in there on your back and move these things to a new position, but it's possible. They do this to add spring tension should you add a spoiler. Give it a look! Similarly, I own an '04 Mazda 6 hatchback and from the day I saw it in the new-car showroom my hatch was difficult to open due to under-spec'd gas pistons. I've replaced them 3 times, different brands. Even the aftermarket brands manufacture them to the original pressure as specified by Mazda, which is 50% too low. Argh. It's way worse in cold weather too.
3. Agreed. In my '04 I yank the cupholder assembly apart from the console. It too was not made to come apart for cleaning, but I muscle it off and bring it to the kitchen sink. I can't believe that in 12 years of doing this the little plastic snap tabs haven't broken off.
4. Agreed. I thought this heads up display was a great idea when I test drove a 2016 Mazda 6 last month. I agree that it should go down if manually turned off.
5. Agreed! I also have the Bose in my 6S, and it only has bass and treble. It's an amazing sounding system even after all these years, but an equalizer would be a sweet addition. My '86 Mazda 626 GT Turbo hatchback came standard with upgraded speakers, an amplifier, a sub-woofer and an 11-band graphic equalizer. What gives huh?

Regarding your door seals, I grew up in Northern Maine (the Katahdin region) and dealt with door seal rubber freezing to the door frame opening on every car my parents ever had - Plymouth, Ford, Chevy.... I live in Massachusetts now, and it's happened here with every Mazda, Subaru, Honda and Toyota my wife and I have owned over the past 27 years. It's just a winter-time thing, it's not a fault of Mazda. Here's something you can do - buy silicone spray, spray it onto a rag (really wet) and rub it all along the door seals and door opening paint. Let it air dry before shutting the doors. It's likely Armor All or some other rubber/vinyl protector will work too. It's basically a bond-breaker which keeps the rain/melted snow that sneaks onto your seals from freezing over night. It really works.

I had the Dunlop SP Sport 5000's on my Mazda 6 years back. Great tire in 3 seasons, but NOT Winter. I currently run Hankook Ventus S1 Noble2 (H452 225/45 R18 95W XL BSW on aftermarket 18" rims) and they're the first tire I've used in years that I replaced with the same tire since they're a great all-around tire. My car has a V6 and 5MT, so I run it hard. :) Happy Motoring!

I have the same car but in meteor gray. My next tires will be the Michelin MXV4 Energy tires I had on my Challenger. They were not grippy enough for that car but should be excellent on the Mazda, even in light snow.
I don't like that I cannot see the fuel tank release lever and I think the seats are a little too small. Also wish the pillar was back a little more to give me more room to exit the vehicle.
I like the HUD so no issue there, Stereo with only 2 bands ok as well because it sounds acceptable and very good at high volume.
Love the way this car handles on back roads, love the way it fits in parking spots.
I wish they made it so the mirrors fold in when I shut off the vehicle. I wish there was an AWD with Turbo option. thats about it.

Every single item mentioned is a non-issue for me. I've yet to see weatherstripping immune to freezing. I'm glad you mentioned the tires. I'm surprised to see that most car buyers do not check out the tire specs before purchasing the car. If keeping winter tires isn't an option, buyer should consider talking to the dealer to replace tires or trade them in for "all-seasons" with more favorable performance in snow and less in the dry. It's difficult to find a tire that is a jack-of-all-trades without sacrificing something.

Good points on what you dislike. No one should have an issue with what you have said.

Once you experience a boot that opens all the way up by itself, then you don't want to go back.

It's the same for other things such as a hydraulic bonnet.

Nice modern cars have the finer details like this done, but it does cost money. Most people complaining probably only have a mazda and probably have not experienced a luxury brand.

I also have a 2016 Mazda 6 GT. Had it about 3 months now and I have to say the best thing I changed on the car were the rims and tires. I swapped out for 19" Axis XQ's (Gun Metal looks great against my Meteor Gray Mica (42a) paint) and Pirelli's and the grip difference is real in all weather conditions. The other complaints were not things that bothered me but the tires I agree with.
