No More IPC & CrPC: Three New Criminal Laws To Come Into Effect Starting Today| All You Need To Know

Three new criminal laws will come into effect across the country from Monday. The Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita and the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam will replace the British-era Indian Penal Code, Code of Criminal Procedure and the Indian Evidence Act, respectively. It would have been better if the laws were in both hindi and english....or in the respective state languages...it seems they are cutting the south india

This is not enough. this is just a stroke of brush in a pile of dirt actually, justice collegium needs to scraped and a new system must be put in place with merit and accountability and the court system needs to be widened to include more qualified judges and new technologies need to be integrated to cover pending cases loads and fasten the process for citizens. Local court houses in states need to be modernised and most importantly law school curriculum needs updation and lawyers need to be qualified under stricter criteria to exercise their craft in courts... Judges can't be picked on seniority they have to be qualified on quality of service and performance in lower courts, high courts, district courts and Supreme Court...

Sorry to say earlier laws failed due to corruption within the Court's administration of district courts and high courts in India

Prima facie, these set of new laws, seem no less than Draconian(not to be confused with Dracula), but these are necessary to push India in the RIGHT DIRECTION, into the 21st Century, and beyond.
But the caveat is that these laws should not be MISUSED, especially by the policing and law enforcement forces, who are now given wide-ranging powers, and not by the judiciary for personal, or political enrichment.

LAW-ABIDING CITIZENS HAVE NOTHING TO FEAR, WHEREAS CRIMINALS and WRONG-DOERS HAVE EVERYTHING TO FEAR.

This is a much delayed process to clean up the legal and law enforcement domains which wallowed in corruption, contempt for due process of law and the use of money power to buy and sell JUSTICE
