People who don't suffer this can't imagine what a torturous existence it is. It affect the whole of your daily life, being always tired or zonked out on drugs.

I've been symptom free for over a year. For ages, been doing progressive relaxation to sleep, starting with toes. During the time I was taking a meditation class, noticed that when I relaxed the jaw muscles, it changed the crawling sensation in my legs. Subdued it but didn't stop it. Started relaxing jaw and facial muscles before sleep, trained myself to relax those while half asleep, and also constantly did that during the day. Biggest difference was when I noticed sleeping on a pillow was putting severe pressure on those muscles. So I started sleeping with pillow above ear, rest of face suspended and not touching anything. The symptoms kept subsiding and stopped. This took somewhere between 1-2 months.

I had RLS for years. I wanted to rip my legs off. I tried different drugs with no success. My doctor then recommended vitamin B12. Within 5 days all signs and symptoms were gone. They have never returned.

i suffer really badly with RLS, not only in my legs but in my shoulders too, quite often my body starts to jerk violently, so i have to get out of bed and walk around, sometimes for hours, on a good night i will sleep for around 3 hours but still have to get up and do a few exercises so i can fall asleep again, it rules my life, i can't travel, which is something i used to love doing, can't go to the movies, can't really do anything that involves sitting for prolonged periods, i feel sorry for anyone who suffers with it.

I know there is quite a bit of skepticism around mechanical devices because they have not worked in the past. I was lucky enough to be involved in one of the trials for the Noctrix device (which I believe he is referring to.) I have severe refractory RLS. I went through augmentation hell. I was only on this study for 6 weeks. During those 6 weeks I was able to reduce my medication by 1/3. It definitely worked for me! I did not mind having it on at all. My study involved only using it when RLS started. I believe if I could have used it early in the evening when I typically get a little breakthrough RLS it may have prevented it altogether. I definitely think it will help on long flights and car rides. I am on the list to get on as soon as they come out. I have no involvement in the sale or distribution of this device, I just want to share my honest assessment.

I bought a grounding mat and it seems to be working quite well. Also bought a grounding sheet and pillow slip to help with RLS and arthritis in my back. I will keep you posted on results.💕

I cured my RLS and night panic/anxiety attacks by changing my hours of sleep. DSPD, I go to sleep now at 2-3am and get up at 10-11am. I sleep like a baby 7-9 hours every single night. DSPD IMO is not a disorder, it's your natural hours of sleep not the societal hours imposed on us.

It typically occurs at the nap hour, and if you are in an environment whereby the room conserves heat too well, then the best approach is to do a before nap time workout routine of your choice for an hour and also remember to keep the dry air out during the summer the best way you know how or winter time using the thermo control with the  "fan" control setting on "auto"  fan setting simultaneously and  not "on". Dry fan air will  dissipate at auto setting, and it's good for the lungs when you do your workout out in your room at night before bed. That's my conclusion  and cure after 38+ years, too. It seems that at this age, it  is the gold standard age experience I've noticed. Human evolution wasn't meant for energy saving high-tech rooms, which trap dry air in rather to the contrary outdoor experience. Who even gets cured off of  restless leg syndrome on a couch rather than outdoors doing stuff and then napping in the forest somewhere. I am serious about this. It's a cure on my behalf in every season of the year and counting. My time for a workout is at the 12 mark to 1am. It is cold outside to open windows and dangerous too. unpredictable too if you live with your loved ones.

It's wrong - it's not an Urge; it is more like an physiological Impulse that you can't control (like a sneeze). You may be able to get up to thwart it, but the impulse returns. I was at the point of being up almost all night before finding out about the prescription that is currently helping me.

Others with RLS: The only thing that stops it for me is soaking it in hot bath. That makes it go away for an hour or two if Im lucky. Try it out.

It's ridiculous to expect people to take medication before using this. It is well known that the medications stop working at some point and the RLS gets worse. It is also well known that there are damaging side effects to any medication. I have had RLS since I was a child. I agree that it is not described well. It is an uncontrollable urge to move, and uncontrolled movement. I have tried many times to breathe and relax through it, only to find the next movement 5 minutes later to be twice as big.

B12 and magnesium have not helped but iron with vitamin C works sometimes.

It is the absolute worst. I get episodes once in a while. I would likely off myself if I had to live w/ it every night :( my prayers go to those strong ppl that deal it w it daily.

My Rls is terrible. It is horrible at night. I toss and turn and always felel the need to get up…I try not to wake my husband when i’m getting in and out the bed but he sleeps so light that he wakes up every time i move… By the morning we both are exhausted.I still can feel it in the daytime as well but it’s not as bad as at night
