I binge-watched The Chosen at least five times within the first three weeks after I discovered it just before this last Christmas. I've ordered (and wear!) The Chosen Merch. I've paid it forward. I know from exactly which episode each scene in the trailer is located. And yet...I wouldn't miss this watch party for the world! I'll be there with everyone else. Because even knowing each episode pretty much inside out...? That trailer still gives me ducky bumps. Because the way Jonathan Roumie is portraying Jesus...? The way Dallas and the co-writers are writing Him? From my own experiences...THAT'S the Jesus I know. I was a Mary Magdalene. If you've seen the show, you'll know what I mean. If you haven't...you will after you watch it. Also, I love the way they address Jesus' humanity while retaining room for His deity. These are just a few of the reasons why I'm so passionate about this series. It's far more than the sum total of its parts. Is it a good series? Absolutely. But the presence of the Spirit is woven throughout this series in ways I can't even begin to adequately explain or comprehend. The entire cast and crew have been top-notch, and I'm looking forward to seeing it again with the world. Literally.
