I live in America and I have noticed that if I wear colors people don’t look at me half as much as if I was to wear all black. To avoid stares it’s better to wear colors in certain areas. Go with the norm of that area as to not stand out.

I feel like a pink abaya is going to draw a lot more female gazes then male.

I think the goal is to not stand out, so wearing something that's the norm in your country should be fine.

The people who are throwing shade on the sheikh clearly did not listen to the video, he said that depending on the culture, meaning that if you come from a place we’re colours are okay then wear colours, if you come from a country where most women wear the same colour then wear that colour. Like in some African tribes for example women wear really bright colours that pop, in this case if you were to wear dark colours or black you’d stand out, and that’s not the point of hijab obviously. So here you wear colours ofcourse. So please listen and understand. And additionally, Islam was made perfected for us whether you like it or not. We receive the order from Allah and we obey. Don’t argue. Don’t dislike it. Don’t give your opinion on why you think it’s wrong or right. You just obey.

Al-Ahzaab (The Combined Forces) chapter 33 verse 36

Dr. Mustafa Khattab, The Clear Quran:
It is not for a believing man or woman—when Allah and His Messenger decree a matter—to have any other choice in that matter. Indeed, whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger has clearly gone ˹far˺ astray.

Assalamu aleykum
In my country (Uzbekistan) wearing dark colors is extravagant and everybody starts looking at such hijabis. So my parents tell me to wear light colored ones such as green, mint, white, light blue. It's common and normal, in this way people don't stare like when I'm wearing black abaya. I hope this is permissible

So basically, anything you feel would draw the attention of others to you is not appreciated.

Yes they are permissble. Women can wear whatever color they want along as its modest

I don’t fully like the inclination that the hijabs purpose is to not draw attention to oneself - because that is negated when you live in a non-Muslim country, where most women do not wear the hijab and by consequence, every hijabi automatically draws attention to herself. By that logic, we would have to take the hijab off, which obviously is not the case. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying the Shaykh is wrong, I just think that NOT drawing attention to yourself is not or at least not the main purpose of the hijab.

In egypt black was kind of eye-catching more than bright colours, but this changed a bit now

In Africa, we are people of bright colours and if you were anything black people are gonna stare at you until you're out of sight, wearing colour means you're gonna blend in with everyone.

I used to wear only black but with time I realised that wearing floral abaya is more concealing than plan one so now I use the colour blocking technique to hide the shape of my body.

Assalamualaikum everyone here❤
I read most comments on colors...
There's one thing i understood from this video and also telling all of you so that no one will make false incorrect rules by themselves!
.
.
.
If you live in a country where people don't get attract towards black then wear it...!
And if you're living in a country where if you wear black and people might stare at you then wear normal colors But not so vibrant...
People who are saying colors don't attract attention also knew that they are wrong!!
COLORS ATTRACT...and people who are saying when we wear black people see us but not with other colors....so they need to know that
THERE'S A CLEAR DIFFERENCE IN STARING AND GETTING ATTRACT.❤
And people who are demanding to provide hadith and ayat on colors, need to know that there are some matters Allah didn't mentioned in Quran but set his beloved Prophet and his wives example Infront of us to learn from them....❤
So please everyone watch your words and don't make your own rules...!

What I have understand by this video is The main motive behind wearing abaya is to protect women ourselves from catching attention from non marham. You can wear any colored abaya as long as it is not eye catching and it is modest in color. For example any nude or pastel or even white colored abayas. The shaikh said it is culture in arab to wear black abayas, but Allah and the Quran didn't give any restrictions in colored abayas as long as it is modest and not eye catching. In western countries if any women wear black abaya, it is also eye catching isn't it and it contradict this topic!! So wear abayas in the same as the society and environment you live in and that's how it will not be eye catching. But like red, pink, bright yellow if you can avoid those colors then you are fine😊😊. Correct me if I am wrong!!

I myself wear black abbaya, so one time i was outside shopping i saw a sister wearing red 🍒 cherry red colour Abaya, which actually drew my attention instantly, it tempted me as a woman, i thought that's a beautiful colour I'll definitely add it to my collection of abayas, but then all of my abayas are black then this kind of thought can erupt in our mind i as a woman is feeling this then a man can too get attracted and keep glancing over you for the colour of Abaya, so it's not wrong but try to adopt to black it really doesn't attract attention at all.

But in today's generation there is no colour that can stop men to look at woman, infact black attracts 10 times more men than the normal colours . What should we women do now ? What should we wear ?

The only reason woman around the prophet tried to go unnoticed was to be safe from the enemy! Also, in Islam, men should refrain from looking at things with a sexual intent. Basically, what is being said here is that women are responsible for the men committing sin or not. If your faith and your self control id so that by seeing red, pink or purple you have inappropriate thought, you have to work on it. No one else is going to be bow to make me do or not do anything but my faith and my heart!
