Someone just tried this on me in a game, turned it around on them. I gave them checkmate in 16 moves

I defend it with Nh6. So many times people tried to push through and they lost a queen in the process.

You can also protect the f7 square with the knight which develops and defends

I still lose often from that position. I need like 10 more moves of theory

doing fianchetto opening is great when someone does this because they almost always blunder their queen lol

After kf6 you can go kd4 to attack the queen. If they do qe3 you can capture c2 pawn and triple fork the king, rook, and the queen. The king is forced to move away and you gain a queen (or a rook) if they fall for it.

I won by resign to a guy trying this, I forked his queen and pawn as he just throws his bishop out instead of moving queen 😅

The best way for me is to play queen e2. They literally can’t do anything and they always rage and resign.

After Qf3, the most aggressive/best response is F5, not NG6. With Black's pawn moving to F5, White responds by taking on F5. Don't take back, instead move Black's knight to D4, threatening the White queen and a fork. White moves Qd5, so you move Qe7 and brutalize. Remote Chess Academy covered this in detail.

Im teaching my 6yo this exact defense right now. The continuation would be d3 opening the bishop to attack the knight on f6, black answers with Bg7 or Be7, i prefer and teach Bg7 fienchetto and when white moves Bg5 black castles and then the game plays like normal

It's funny, I've been playing chess for quite a bit now and just passed 1000 elo. I just noticed how many times I've defended against this opening without knowing what it was.

I hate how people play this opening at 800 elo

Why do extra move waste of time just put the knight to h3

But then isnt your knight now just pinned ? Why not move the F pawn one up instead?
