The biblical doctrine of election as an act of selection presupposes and implies an act of rejection.

Did not God simply elect those whom he foresaw would repent, believe, be receptive, be holy or persevere? Did God elect only nations or groups? i.e. Does Rom. 9 have only to do with the election of nations. Did God simply choose the church as a whole?

Confessing the Faith is a theological and devotional walk through the 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith with host Sam Waldron, Pastor of Grace Reformed Baptist Church in Owensboro, KY and President of Covenant Baptist Theological Seminary.

Question about 3.3:
How are angels predestined to eternal life through Jesus Christ?

It seems like only Human beings are predestined to eternal life through Jesus Christ because Christ only died for the sins of human beings and so Jesus is the mediator only of elect humans.

Elect angels are without sin so they don't have/need a mediator. It seems that human beings are predestined to eternal life through Jesus Christ but angels are only predestined to eternal life by Jesus since He is their sovereign creator, but not through Him.
