Check out the equipment I use to record in Garageband here...

(Note: My Interface is the Scarlett 2i2 2nd Generation, which uses a USB 2 Type 'B' Jack Socket; the model above is the 3rd Generation which has a USB Type 'C' Jack Socket.)

(Note: The guitar in the video is a 'partscaster', comprising a white '50s body and a neck from a '60s Classic Vibe Telecaster Custom.)

In this video you will discover the basics for recording your guitar in Garageband. You will learn, quickly and simply, how to connect your guitar to your computer and how to work with the many amp, speaker and pedal simulators.

Garageband, which comes pre-installed on Apple devices, is a brilliant work and practice tool for guitarists. One of the most important things you can do to develop your guitar skills is to record yourself and listen to your playing critically.

Hi Mark, Found your truly superb channel yesterday and watched this in order to see your settings for some of the fabulous tones I’ve heard on your recordings, especially of Page and Koss solos. Your whole style of explanation, here and elsewhere, is admirable. No mystification, no show of esoteric knowledge (though you’ve clearly got some!) and a strong desire to share your experience. I’d be interested in other GB videos about your tones. I’ve used it for recording for some time and consider it underrated and under-explored. Am loving your work and am glad there’s so much of it already on your channel. Anything further on Koss would be appreciated. Thank you!

Fantastic video….really, really appreciate this.I’m rubbish at recording stuff and find most videos to be too convoluted and hard to follow. This one is literally fool proof.Thank you so much.I’ve always been impressed at how well you’ve managed to copy Eric’s specific tones across the different albums (Disraeli Gears is an odd one I think for example) so I can’t wait to give this a go.

Can you tell me what amp cab and pedals settings did you use to get the tone on Creams Sitting on top of The World with the Firebird 1. Also can you tell me what Mac computer and interface did you use back when you recorded with the Firebird which was 3 years ago and I see you're comptuer is a 2020 model. Im a Windows user but to get that tone I'd me more than happy to buy a Mac laptop and interface to get a tone I've been chasing for years. Any help you can give would be very much appreciated, thank you.
