There are a lot of streaming apps that work on Samsung smart TVs. Samsung is the largest producer of smart TVs, and if you have a recently manufactured set, you may not need a streaming device.

Many new Samsung smart TVs come with many streaming services already installed on them. All you need to do is go to the Samsung smart hub to launch it and sign in.

But, not every streaming service works with Samsung smart TVs. That often comes down to money.

What improvements would you like Samsung to make to its SmartHub?

I recently purchased a Samsung M5 streaming TV/computer monitor for my exercise room that replaced my old CRT computer monitor. It is connected to my Windows computer. It does not have a TV tuner, but has streaming apps pre-loaded. When used with a computer, it can also go into "standby mode" when the computer is not being used. It does come with a remote control and has good, built-in speakers. I have YouTube TV which I watch with the Samsung M5. I have not explored the Samsung TV Plus channels yet, I am happy just getting the national news channels on that TV while exercising.

had a samsung tv a few years ago, was very accessible for the blind to use. accidentally broke it and changed over to the roku sticks and then tcl roku tv's. the remote on the roku's are easier to use, plus still have access for the blind on there as well. but samsung and roku both are good. no complaints. cool vid.

My 2018 Samsung q6fn still gets the updates, albeit a little slower, but I have no real issue there because I have the same delay of upgrades on my Roku Ultra, which is also a 2018 model.
I have however, experienced a definite difference between how well some apps operate on my tv, vs the same apps on my Roku Ultra.
Some operate better on the tv, and some are better on the Roku.
Both operate on my sound bar, but the sound quality is MUCH better with the apps running on my Roku.
My basic stance is that if my tv or my Roku stops getting new apps or upgrades, it's MUCH cheaper to get a new Roku than a new tv.

You were too kind. The real explanation is power struggle. Samsung would much prefer to control you viewing so they can profit off that control. Samsung has no problem making sure their TV's have plenty of Samsung selected/controlled options. So if they can give me an app to watch K-pop, they could just as easily give me an app for ESPN+. Still, your solution was spot on: get a Roku and flip a middle finger at the creepy voyeurs at Samsung.

My Samsung tv with tv plus is the best. I will never buy any other brand. I don't miss my Xfinity cable service one bit. even though l had it since 1989! at almost 300.00 a month! every time l turn my tv on all l can think about is the money l am saving, and how good Samsung tv plus is. 😊😊

All I can say is that I love my Samsung TV. This is the only TV brand I will ever purchase in the future.

The key point is that Samsung does not run on Android. So, its televisions are not as smart as the other brands which do. Google Playstore is not available on Samsung televisions. Consequently, most apps do not run on Samsungs. The apps that you mention are also available onAndroid televisions.

In addition to their very limited functionality, Samsung enables third parties to store cookies on their televisions in order to bombard you with adverts or to check your viewing history.

Samsung's technology is no better than that of its competitors. Its "smart" functionality is actually rather 'dumb." The best advice is to buy some other brand if "smart" functionality is what you want.
