Are your SHOES making your leaking worse?

Here’s the deal ⬇️
Especially for runners but also... for everyone!
Your feet are meant to transfer force, and when they can’t do that, the force goes somewhere else.
In the case of the pelvic floor and the internal obliques (what the researchers tested), here's what they found:
In the pelvic floor, tension created was no different with minimalist vs. cushioned shoes.
However, in the Internal Obliques, wearing cushioned shoes led to more force being shunted up to the abs, and the abs were recruited MORE.
So what does this mean for leaking?
Leaking is a pressure issue in the core. If you're creating more tension in your core and thus adding MORE pressure to a system that has issues, you're gonna get more leaking.
The solve?
1) Fix the pressure issue
2) Try out different shoes to see if it affects your leaking (and then address the pressure issue too! :) )
