Edit: the devs confirmed that the only countries subject to the personal stuff being monitored are places where its either required, or encouraged, the game is safe, plus, read the TOS, tis the same TOS as WoW, as thor (pirate software) said, read the TOS

If I had a nickel for every time lemon was challenged by the devs, made that challenge more difficult, then found out it was actually a really strong way to play I'd only have a handful of nickels, but it's weird that it keeps happening

NOPE. You create a character, you're locked in. You cannot delete the character, you cannot create a new one, and you cannot change servers so if people you know join up on another server you can't switch to the one they're on.

Apparently they hope to change this "sometime in August."

So yeah. NetEase being NetEase. Also might want to check the EULA and decide if you want to give them your shit, because they want it all.

So just a warning, they collect, for some reason or another:

First and last name, title, prefix, email address, telephone number, (instant) messaging account, postal address, date of birth, age, gender, country/region, and government-issued ID, such as passport information. They also can collect IP geolocation information, cell-ID, and Wi-Fi connection location. On top of that, debit or credit card details, bank account details, and billing address.

None of this is optional.

The game takes all of your personal information, government ID, person communications, etc. The terms and services are extremely intrusive. I wanted the game for months, but, thankfully, I read the reviews first. (I also noticed that Epic games doesn't have reviews for it)
